EN The idea for a photo museum "was launched in 1993, when the authorities of the Sverdlovsk region, listening to the opinion of local historians, abandoned intentions to demolish one of the dying mansions in the center of Yekaterinburg, which before the revolution belonged to the photographer Benjamin Leontievich Metenkov. (...) On August 10, 1998, Metenkov House Museum of Photography (a branch of the Museum of History of Ekaterinburg) opened its doors to visitors."
