Dedicated to the 70th Anniversary of the Uprising in the Warsaw Ghetto.
A story of slaves’ rebellion led by Spartacus in Ancient Rome. Based on the famous soviet ballet “Spartak” (1954) by Aram Khachaturyan. The film is made on the genre intersection point of documentary, silent movie and theatrical performance. I set my story simultaneously in contemporary Moscow and in the revolutionary past and maybe in some unpredictable future. Migrant workers feature in this film. They play both Romans and gladiators. Zum 70. Jahrestag des Aufstands im Warschauer Ghetto
Eine Geschichte über den von Spartakus angeführten Sklavenaufstand im alten Rom. Beruht auf dem berühmten sowjetischen Ballett „Spartakus“ (1954) von Aram Chatschaturjan. Der Film entstand am Schnittpunkt der Genres Dokumentation, Stummfilm und Bühnenperformance. Ich habe meine Geschichte gleichzeitig im heutigen Moskau, in der revolutionären Vergangenheit und vielleicht in einer unvorhersehbaren Zukunft angelegt. Im Film treten Arbeitsmigranten auf. Sie spielen sowohl Römer als auch Gladiatoren. Die Handlung findet auf einem ehemaligen Industriegelände vor dem verkleinerten Nachbau des Titus-Bogens statt, der mit Putzlappen verhüllt ist.
